What is a Glycolic Peel?
A glycolic acid peel is an enzyme based facial treatment, using glycolic acid derived from sugarcane; to gently resurface & treat deeper levels of the skin. It provides significant benefits by helping smooth rough, dry skin & improve the texture. It helps to improve the appearance of sun damage, acne scars and minimize fine lines and wrinkles. A series of peels is usually required to obtain the best results.

All Image peels are formulated in a revolutionary Aloe Vera based gel to simultaneously peel & heal the skin.
These peels are considerably stronger than the Enzymatic Resurfacing Facial Treatment. For best results a course of 4-6 treatments are recommended every 2-4 weeks. However a one off facial will still give amazing results. The skin needs to be prepped 2 weeks before a chemical peel can be carried out with at least one product containing glycolic acid and a physical SPF moisturiser to protect against UV rays.

This peel blend of AHA & BHA exfoliators work to diminish dead skin cells. This peel is designed to cut through stubborn grease & skin congestion to help fight acne & its causes. The aim from this peel is to reduce the appearance & occurrence of blemishes. It will also help to stimulate cell turnover which can help minimize the appearance of acne scarring & open pores. This peel is a good first time peel for oily & acne skins to clear the sebum and dead skin barrier to allow the active ingredients in the homecare to start working immediately. For all peels, treatments are delivered approximately two to three weeks apart to experience the best results. Peels and facials can also be customised to suit each individual clients skin concerns through the use of adding enhancers.
A consultation before every treatment is essential, as-well as the use of image skincare after the treatments & for continual use to manage skin health and maintain results.
After treatment - Skin peeling within 2-7 days post treatment is likely. The use of IMAGE skincare, post peel, is essential to help soothe, heal & protect the skin. Due to the high levels of exfoliation, your skin will be slightly more sensitive to the sun, therefore it is compulsory to use a physical (zinc oxide/titanium dioxide) SPF. Cosmetic SPF’s do not offer enough protection. Your skin specialist will advise on a suitable home care regime to enhance the results of your treatments.
